NICOLE SCHERZINGER "KILLER LOVE" ALBUM REVIEW

Before American Idol there was PopStars, and before The Pussycat Dolls, there was Eden’s Crush. And standing at the front of both groups, there was Nicole Scherzinger. After the demise of Eden’s Crush, Nicole disappeared and out of nowhere popped up fronting PCD, and together they delivered hit after hit. Then came time to unleash Nicole to the world solo, but things didn’t pan out they way one would have figured. Shelved album, girl group drama, single’s not charting like they should have been. Where was the spark? What went wrong?

Read the full review after the jump.

Riding  the wave of success from DOMINATING Dancing With The Stars, and running with her newfound popularity, Nicole shines with her UK Solo debut, “Killer Love”. Starting off the album is the hit that put her on the map, “Poison”. Produced by Red One; who also executive produced the album, Nicole’s rock tinged voice ride’s the beat extremely well, as the beat goes through many changes, so does Nicole’s voice. When the track is mellow, Nicole is smooth, when the beat rages, she takes it up a notch. Nicole had the ball with the song, and didn’t drop it at all.

Singing in a rock band before making it big, has truly stay with Nicole throughout her career, and with this album Nicole influenced the sound into a lot of her songs. Pop/Rock reminiscent of hit’s and soft rock of the late 80’s and the huge euro dance craze of today is what makes Killer Love a hit for Nicole. Always one with a big voice, Nicole takes advantage of her sound and the music. What way to use powerful vocals, than over a powerful instrumental?

The island drenched “Right There” is sure to deliver another hit for Scherzinger. The beat and hook is an instant catch. The lyrics are simple, sexy, and raw, “I like the way that you talk dirty, don’t wash your mouth out, I like it dirty, you like to please, yeah I like that…” she sings.
What makes Nicole special is her vocal versatility and her flexibility musically. The way she yodels in the intro of “You Will Be Loved”, fits right in with the dance crazy anthems that rule Billboard’s Hot 100 in “Wet”, and even dabbles in modern contemporary in “Power’s Out” with the legendary Sting.

While this albums boasts no solid r&b tracks such as her first attempt at solo stardom “Whatever You Like” or the internet leak Mad Scientist produced, “Psycho”, Nicole’s “Killer Love” still will please fans all over the UK and surrounding regions who will be invaded with the physical release of the LP.
