DRAKE SAYS: NEW AALIYAH ALBUM TO BE RELEASED THIS YEAR

A few days ago a new Aaliyah song was released in the form of "Enough Said" featuring rapper Drake & ever since many have made their opinions heard on a reported new album from Aaliyah that Drake would be in control of. Drizzy revealed that a posthumous album would be released & along with producer Noah "40" Shebib, while at the OVO fest in Toronto he spoke with MuchMusic. Aaliyah's brother Rashad spoke out stating that their family is not apart of this album & does not support it, but her former label Blackground who is owned by her uncle Barry Hankerson is the one who green lit the entire project.

Watch the interview after the jump.

While it is great to be able to once again hear Aaliyah's smooth voice we think that the overall project should be executed in a respectful manner. The question is why was Drake put in charge of this album in stead of Timbaland & Missy Elliott who were a big part of the Aaliyah that the world has grown to know & unconditionally love. Just because Drizzy has expressed various times over the past fews years how much of a huge fan he was doesn't mean he is the best person to release this album, he did not know her personally & only people close to Babygirl would know exactly how she would want things done.
