It has been a very long 7 years since the release of Missy Elliott's last studio album The Cookbook, for awhile now many have wondered if & when Elliott would be making a return to the mic with new music. What came as a shock is when legendary music producer Timbaland tweeted that Missy would be dropping two new singles during Labor Day weekend entitled "9th Inning" & "Triple Threat". Earlier this year Elliott premiered the track during a private event in New York City, the song "9th Inning" samples old school rap group Run DMC's song "Here We Go (Live At The Playhouse)".
