NE-YO SAYS LADY GAGA IS NOT A ICON

Over the past couple of years the music industry has strongly declined because of the lack of true & passionate talent that once was in the recent years of the 90's. Ne-Yo who is the new Senior Vice President of A&R at Motown Records made some not so shocking comments about pop star Lady Gaga that have some not respecting his blunt yet true statement.

Read more after the jump.

During a conversation with the Daily Star Ne-Yo was asked "Who was the last real icon to come out of the music industry?" He responded with his answer & gave a brief & detailed reason on why he felt this way:

“Everybody thought it was going to be Lady GaGa, but where is she right now, what’s going on with her? Not to take anything away from her because she’s ridiculously talented, but artists who stand the test of time – you just don’t see those any more.”

Ne-Yo had a good point because while Gaga has reached a high level of success in a very short period of time she is not a icon but is on the right path. It is very sad that just because a artists is the hot topic of the moment with a handful of #1 album & singles many are very quick to call them an icon, but naturally do not have what it takes to be an artist who can be versatile with more sounds to their music then just one. I do not think he was trying to be disrespectful he was just speaking his opinion which has a lot of truth to it.
